Details
3 Terraces, a small family owned vineyard was established in the Wairarapa in 1999. The vineyards name is taken from a series of terraces laid down by the Ruamahanga River. These ancient terraces of fertile loam above free-draining river gravels, were key factors in the vineyards location.
Wairarapa's warm Summers and reliable, dry Autumns provide ideal conditions for growing and ripening grapes. The vineyard is managed so low cropping levels between 2-3 tonnes per acre, ensure intense flavour concentration. All the wines produced, including Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc, are created in a dry style and will improve with cellaring.
